In honor of the upcoming ProBlogger 31 Days to Build a Better Blog Challenge, this week on my blog is “Follow Your Blogging Bliss” week. My posts will try (I can’t promise anything) to inspire you and get you pumped up for the mega blog party that’s starting July 19 at the SITSGirls BlogFrog community. I hope you’ll join me in following your blogging bliss. And for the record, I’m cheating…this is officially my Day 2 link post.
10 MOSTLY True Reasons to take the Problogger Challenge with the SITSGirls
10.) Because according to the blog god, aka ProBlogger, this should only take 15 minutes a day. (Should be TRUE, unless you’re a neurotic perfectionist like me. If you are, we should talk.)
9.) Because during the next 31 days your loving husband will miraculously finish up the thousands of items on your to-do list (If this is TRUE, does he have a brother?)
8.) Because you have tons of spare time to read, and blog, and tweet, and BlogFrog. (A big fat FALSE, but who needs sleep anyway?)
7.) Because your kids will magically turn into well-behaved angels while you read, and blog, and tweet, and BlogFrog (I don’t care who you are…this is FALSE).
6.) Because over 200 other SITStahs got your back. (Totally TRUE)
5.) Because my super hip coolness will rub off on you (Utterly FALSE. But my super lame geekiness might – see #4)
4.) Because you’ll be inspired by rad 80’s YouTube videos I might randomly tweet out in a sleep deprived state. (Very possibly TRUE)
3.) Because your inner blog goddess is itching to get out (TRUE! She’s in there! Trust me.)
2.) Because if someone asks you what you did this summer, instead of saying, “I organized my closets,” wouldn’t you rather say, “I followed my blogging bliss,”? (If this isn’t TRUE, we can never be friends.)
1.) It’s YOUR job to fill in number 1. What’s your reason for doing the challenge?

After much stomping about and serious discussions with my cat, I have decided that it does not matter that I’m going to be out of town for an entire week of this. I’m going to glue my fingers to the laptop anyway and join the SITStahood in this thing. I have to. After this post, there are really no excuses left.

That was my goal, you know. To stamp out all excuses!
Great list! So excited, I can’t wait…oh and i’m looking forward to the 80’s videos and yes! I want to find my blogging bliss.

A girl after my own heart. I will send out tacky 80’s videos then!
Okay, okay you convinced me. lol Great post.
Alright, Johanna! It will be fun…promise!
My reason for doing the challenge was that blogging fever hit me, and I’m in the process of setting up 4 other blogs (I know..what am I thinking? lol) and I’d like to make sure they’re all as fabulous as possible.
4 blogs? You really must be sleep deprived!
Great list! The reason why I’m doing this challenge….let’s see….Oh yes, I want to improve the look of my blog, hone my writing skills, and learn how to market my blog.
That’s all! ;P

I think the challenge definitely covers marketing and writing in terms of writing for your readers. One thing I’ve learned is, the more you write, the more you improve. Oh, and the more you read, the more your writing will improve.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. If I don’t take care of my family, who will? I started doing some research on the net to help me increase my sales and God led me right to you girls. I am thrilled to be doing this with a group of like-minded ladies. Sadly I could not get any of my friends to join me.

I can’t wait Monday

Despite I’ll be on holiday for 10 days, far from web connection, I decide to partecipate given the SITS Girls energy. I’ll do anyway my homework and when back to home I’ll have tons of suggestions to share and read.

I’m scared! I’m “officially”launching my blog (if all goes well, ok, even if it doesn’t go well) this weekend. So, July 19th will be a BIG deal in helping my newborn blog grow.
Really hoping you’ll slap up some Devo videos to keep us amused…
Great post Nirvana! I’ve joined the band wagon to get off my excuses and do this sort “house/blog” cleaning — I’m pretty sure that with some like-minded people around, it should be more fun, and the learning curve will be great. See you soon!

I know I’m not the teacher or the #31DBBB police but I would definitely give you an A+ on the Day 2 assignment
Nice post!
I’m going to do this because I want to improve my knowledge of the blogging world- it’s so overwhelming, and I’m hoping this journey and the book combined will give me the tools I need to quit “oooo-ing” and “ah-ing” and get something done. My long-term hope for my blog is to end up with some products that could generate income for my family, so I am very thankful that you started this movement!

I am definitely a neurotic perfectionist & 15 minutes a day will not be nearly enough for me. Oh well. I believe it will be worth it! I’m so glad you thought of this!!

15 minutes hah! I think that is laughable. My bet is everyone will take much more time. I can’t wait to grow my new blog!
A neurotic perfectionist like me needs to “perfect” my blog and writing skills!
I love #2!
As a professional procrastinator – seriously I will put off ANYTHING – I really want the accountability of working as a group! They say if you do something for 30 days – you will make it a habit!

I am speechless. I HAVE no excuses after that. I recently “rejoined” the SITS girls (long story) and have now joined the BlogFrog community and am all ready to go with the challenge…! I ordered my book and everything! And now… back to laundry.

Great post, totally my kind of humor
And yes, you are correct, sleep is completely overrated!
Thanks for the constant motivation. I think we are all pretty motivated, we just forget where we are going half the time and this will remind us why we’re staring at our laptops at midnight..again!

Thanks again for spearheading this campaign! I want to get my writing out there to more people. And, I love all of the great connections I have made so far blogging. Having more can never be a bad thing. I just need to make the time like everyone else.
I’ve been wanting to do Problogger’s 31dbb for a while. This was just the motivation I needed to get going. The discount was a nice motivator too!
Thanks for organizing this!

I’m new to the blogging world, but not to the Internet and all things related:) I am reading Problogger and Wordpress for Dummies and I am very excited for this additional training and this wonderful support group!
I’m joining because I need to seriously jump start my blogging. I’ve got plenty to post, but somehow, I never get it on the web. I’m hoping the challenge will help me get into better blogging habits.
Is it Monday yet??? Seriously, is it???

I bought Darren’s 31dbb nine months ago and STILL have not put it to use
I’ve joined so I can stop with the procrastinating and get on with the blogging!
I would LOVE to improve my blog and I think that the motivation of having others pushing you to do it will make it so much easier (and fun!)

Is it too late to join in the challenge with you? I would really be interested.
Nirvana Mama, we’re going to be friends, there is NO WAY this will take me only 15 minutes a day (“neurotic perfectionist” = all me!).

Lucky you though, from what I’ve read you’ve already knocked down one of the daily tasks… Look who’s got a day off now
Thanks for inspiring me to join the challenge!

Oh my word! Information AND you cracked me up!! Um, yea, and no way blogging could only take me 15 minutes a day (sign me up for the Neurotic Perfectionist Anonymous meeting….and the Extremist Anonymous meeting too since I can flip to the opposite end in a heartbeat and require a Control my Chaos Anonymous meeting!!). Happy weekend to you! :>
